Shaken Baby Syndrome: Never Ever Shake a Baby

About 25 percent of all shaken baby victims die as a result of their injuries. Of those who survive, 80 percent suffer permanent disabilities. It is time to get the message out loud and clear, “Never Ever Shake a Baby.”

Our presenter, Brandi Whaley, is a mother of a shaken baby survivor and the founder of Shaken Baby Prevention of Idaho. Brandi will share her daughter’s story, and give a parent’s perspective of having to go through this preventable tragedy. Shaken Baby Syndrome is the number one cause of death in child abuse involving children less than 1 year of age.

Please join Brandi and the Child Care Aware® Parent Network to learn:

•    What is Shaken Baby Syndrome?
•    What happens when a baby is shaken?
•    What signs and symptoms should parents look for?
•    Tips on coping with the frustrations that can come with taking care of a baby.
